Helping Clients Respond to Crisis Events & Manage Issues

Our first introduction to many of our clients often occurs when they face a sudden crisis or sense an emerging issue needs our expertise. When we have the luxury of time, our first step is to work with our client to develop a written strategic response specific to the event or issue. That strategy serves as the roadmap to guide us and our client through the next challenging hours and days – even longer when the event has extended consequences.

Our approach to that process includes:

  • Obtaining a solid briefing on the situation; making sure all the players have a say in what we hear; developing a situation analysis based on that input
  • Identifying target audiences and stakeholders – both internal and external, as well as the media
  • Developing key messages relevant to the situation; getting buy-in from the team
  • Identifying communications tactics and processes to be used or developed
  • Identifying who’s responsible for which activity
  • Setting a timetable for action
